When you invest in women, the opportunities are limitless.

It’s been over a month since our event with Hello Magazine, but we still can’t believe how lucky we are to have the support of so many amazing women and men and to once again see the impact of personal stories on creating change.

Hosted by Rosie Nixon, editor and chief of Hello Magazine, the evening was full of inspirational women sharing their reasons for why it’s so important to invest in women. First, Nancy Durrell McKenna, Founder Director of SafeHands, shared the stories of some of the powerful women she’s worked with who continue to drive her in her work, and when she first saw the importance of the visual in creating change. Hibo Wardere, SafeHands Ambassador and anti-FGM campaigner, spoke about her experiences being cut as a young girl, moving to the UK as a refugee, and becoming a campaigner to end FGM in Britain today. Finally, Baroness Helena Kennedy QC rounded up the evening by sharing her experiences seeing the impact that film and photography have on changing attitudes and behaviour of decision makers and policy makers around the world.

Overall, the evening was a great chance to meet new people and share with them the importance of sharing the stories women in creating change.
