SafeHands for Mothers is delighted to welcome Professor Lesley Regan to the SafeHands’ distinguished board of patrons.  Lesley is Head of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology at St. Mary's Hospital, Imperial College London and the 30th President of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists.  Most recently she was elected as Honorary Secretary General to FIGO (International Federation of Gynecology and Obstetrics).

A passionate advocate for women’s reproductive health and rights, Lesley believes that we must provide girls and women with the education and tools they need to control their own fertility and make informed decisions about if, when, and how many times they become pregnant during their lives. She is Director of the RCOG’s Leading Safe Choices program to improve the quality and delivery of family planning and safe abortion services in sub-Saharan Africa.

“We are delighted that Lesley has joined SafeHands as a Patron.  Her leadership nationally and internationally as an advocate and educator to  improve the healthcare of women will  strengthen the work of SafeHands. Her support means so much to us.” says SafeHands Founder Director, Nancy Durrell McKenna.

Professor Lesley Regan joins our distinguished board of patrons: Baroness Helena Kennedy QC, Lord Naren Patel KT, Professor Ian Jacobs, Jon Snow, and Patrick O’Brien
